Gemma Christina Arterton was born in the town of Gravesend, Kent. Greater London. She is best known for playing roles in films such as Quantum of Solace, The Disappearance of Alice Creed, and many more, including 'Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters. She was born at Gravesend located in Greater London. She started her professional career having studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and her debut in film with a supporting role on the comedy movie 'St. Trinian's'. After that, she appeared in "Quantum of Solace", the James Bond spy thriller. It was a typical film with mediocre reviewers. She then played her role as the female protagonist in the action-fantasy film 'Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time'. The film featured her as an extra in the French film "Orphan.' Arterton's career has seen her nominated for numerous awards. She was awarded the prestigious Empire Award for best newcomer in the film Quantum of Solace and the Evening Standard Theatre Award for the role she played in Made in Dagenham. She also won the Glamour Awards for Women of the Years in 2011.
